Accessibility Statement
MeMe Mae is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. We are actively working to meet and maintain the international accessibility standard WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are working to close the remaining gaps. A formal third-party audit is planned to verify full conformance.
What we have done
- Colour contrast meets or exceeds WCAG AAA (7:1 for normal text) across the site.
- The site is operable by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator on every control and a "Skip to content" link.
- Interactive components (menus, cart, search, product options) expose correct roles, names, and states to assistive technology, and manage keyboard focus.
- Cart updates and notifications are announced to screen readers.
- Forms have associated labels and identify their input purpose for autofill.
- Layout reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320 px / 400% zoom, and animations are reduced when "reduce motion" is enabled in your system.
- Images have text alternatives; the page language and structure use correct semantic markup.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some limitations remain. Below is a list of known issues, with the reason and, where relevant, the workaround:
- Payment fields at checkout are provided by our payment processor (Stripe) within a secure embedded frame. Their accessibility is maintained by the provider.
- Contact and newsletter forms use a third-party form tool; we have enhanced their accessibility but do not control every internal behaviour.
- Newer or edited content (product descriptions, policy pages) may occasionally fall short until reviewed. Please tell us if you find a problem.
Feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter a barrier or need information in a different format, please contact us:
- Email: hello@mememae.com
- Or use our contact page
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days, and to propose a solution or alternative where a barrier is confirmed.
How we assess this site
MeMe Mae assesses the accessibility of this website by a combination of automated accessibility testing across every page type on desktop and mobile, and manual review of keyboard use and screen-reader structure. A formal audit by an external accessibility specialist, including testing with assistive-technology users, is the next step toward full certification.
